We are passionate about creating vibrant and personalised colourful Cake Smash Sessions for our clients. Your Cake Smash Session is unique to every client. From the colour of the cake to the backdrop setting. Additionally, whether you have a specific birthday outfit in mind or you want to explore our collection of clothing options, we have a large collection of choices ranging from tutus to dungarees.

What do I need to know before my session?

We will provide you with an online Session Planner that outlines all the details and allows you to communicate your ideas and preferences. This includes the opportunity to select your desired background or make that decision on the day of the session. By filling out the Session Planner, we gain valuable information about your expectations and can better prepare for the session.

For your session you can bring your own outfits. Or you can choose from our wardrobe selection on the day of the session. To discuss with us what you are hoping to achieve on the day, feel free to share screenshots of our images from our social media platforms. At the Baby Boutique, we a large collection of decorative elements like bunting and fun props. You can select any of these to use on the day at the studio. With over 150 backdrops and wardrobes full of outfits, props and accessories, there really is something to suit everyone. We can’t wait to create a colourful cake smash for you!

How do you choose your package?

We have set up our packages by the number of photography setups incorporated into your photo shoot. For Cake Smash sessions, the Cake Splash (bubble bath) is an optional extra and takes place on the same backdrop as the Cake Smash. You have the choice between a Water Bubble Bath or a bath with our new Bubble Balls for the Cake Splash portion. Stay tuned to our blog for more information on our new Bubble Ball Bath prop.

Our three most affordable Cake Smash packages are:

One setup with a minimum of 5 final images – £245
This backdrop will be used for both the Cake Smash and Cake Splash.

Two setups with a minimum of 10 final images – £345
One backdrop can be used for portraits, additional birthday images and family portraits. The second will be used for both the Cake Smash and Cake Splash.

Three setups with a minimum of 15 final images – £445
Two backdrops will be used for portraits and/or family images. The third will be used for both the Cake Smash and Cake Splash.

How do we define a setup?

  • Each setup includes a range of variations with poses and props. We define one setup as one chosen backdrop and outfit
  • If you would like to include family and sibling photographs, you can have these taken against any one of the setups.
  • We strategically plan a flow for your session to maximise your time at the studio.
  • After your consultation has taken place, we cannot add any additional setups to the session.

Upgrades

Each package includes a minimum of final images – provided as JPGs in both colour and black & white. You will have the opportunity to upgrade your package and purchase any additional favourite images. This takes place during your viewing at the end of the session. This allows you to choose and purchase many more images as desired.

Booking a Colourful Cake Smash

We want to ensure that your Cake Smash session is perfect in every way. To help us guarantee that your cake arrives in time for your session. We require a minimum of three days’ notice before your session to order your cake. Our cakes come from Manchester’s top bakery, Hey Little Cupcake. If you follow us on social media, you can check out the designs past clients have selected. When you book your session, make sure to let us know the colour of your choice for the cake.

To secure your booking, we require a £40 deposit. Your deposit secures your date and allows us to order your chosen cake. All deposits are fully refundable against the cost of your Cake Smash Package after your session.

Rescheduling Policy for Cake Smash Sessions:

  • If you need to reschedule your session, you can do so up to 3 calendar days later without any additional charges. The original deposit you made when booking your session will be applied to this new date.
  • To ensure freshness and avoid any food waste. Cakes are designed and baked to your requirements by Hey Little Cupcake.
  • To accommodate this, please provide a minimum of 5 days’ notice if you decide to cancel the Cake Smash Session.
  • When there is availability, we can move your session to a date up to 3 days away. Cakes remain fresh for up to 3 days after the session.
  • If you need to cancel or move your Cake Smash, within the 5-day period. We will require a new deposit will to secure your future date. This deposit allows us to order a new cake for your new date.
